The annual Adopt a Child / Keep Kids Warm program is taking registrations until September 29th for low income working families and families on assistance with children 12 years and younger that require new snowsuits and boots for this winter. The applicant must be the custodial parent or guardian and bring proper ID for themselves and the child to the Prince Edward County Youth Centre, 299 Main Street, Picton, Monday to Friday, between 12:30 pm. and 5:30 p.m.

The Maker’s Hand has gained an excellent reputation for showcasing a wide range of fine craft by artisans who are dedicated to creating original designs using quality materials. The Prince Edward County Arts Council is bringing 39 vendors from Ontario and Quebec starting on Friday, November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. until Sunday, November 5th at 4:00 p.m. at the Prince Edward Community Centre, 375 Main Street, Picton.

Cooking Workshops

Food to Share is a grassroots initiative that addresses food insecurity in the County. The group led by Glen Wallis takes food donated by various farmers and private residents and turns it into healthy, fresh food to be distributed through our local County food banks. Seniors can get a ride to the doctor or to get groceries by calling Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors . Carefully screened, caring and capable volunteer drivers help seniors get to appointments locally & to Kingston, Ottawa, Toronto, etc. The volunteer stays with the senior the whole trip.
