It’s that time again. St. Philip’s is hosting their Annual Corn & Pork Roast on Wednesday, August 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at 44 St. Philip Street in Milford. Enjoy succulent roast pork right off Harley Guernsey’s grill, fresh local corn, delicious salads, and mouth watering, and homemade desserts. Adults: $16. Children under 12: Free. Everyone is welcome!

Sophiasburgh Picnic

The second annual Sophiasburg picnic will be held on the evening of Wednesday, August 9th. This is a free event, great for the whole family.  Start off at 4:00 p.m. with a farm tour, at Fiddlehead Farm, 978 Fish Lake Road.  Then at 5:00 p.m., on to Three Dog Winery, 1920 Fish Lake Road, for the picnic featuring the bounty of the Sophiasburgh region farms, wine and a picnic supper from the artisanal food vendors.  Complimentary fresh vegetable appetizer provided to the first 200 guests. The event will be held in memory of Peter Fleming, former resident of Sophiasburgh and head of Slow Food the County, who was the instigator of the first picnic held in 2014.

Dragon Boat Festival

The 11th Dragon Boat Festival, takes place on Saturday, August 12th. This is a major fundraising activity for the Wellington District Club. They are looking for $50 and $100 sponsors for the race heats and the race final. All sponsors will be recognized all day long. Also,  they are looking for paddlers, so make a team or join a team.
