Concerts in the Park

The Wellington District Lions Club proudly present 11 weekly concerts, Tuesdays, in the Gazebo in the Park on Main Street, Wellington. Concert, hot dogs and pop are free (donations appreciated). Bring a lawn chair and listen to such groups as the Reasons, Instant Rivalry, Blu Zone, Lorain Sine, R & R, Wicklow, Moon Sugar, Eric Pilgrim and Grampa’s Goodtime Band. In case of rain, concerts will be held in the Wellington Town Hall, Main St, Wellington.

Each of the County Museums is like an individual chapter in the County’s story—and this year the Museums would like to reward visitors who “finish the book”! The County Marathon

Running/Walking Training and Guidance

The County Marathon and Fitness Powers are partnering to offer free running and walking training to County residents participating in ALL County Marathon events this year. This program is geared towards beginner to intermediate level runners and walkers and is offered from July 11th until October 1st. Volunteers needed

Loyalist Humane Society on County Road 4 has an urgent need for volunteers – one in the Main Cat-House for a shift on Mondays, and one for Saturday mornings in the Fraidy-Cat Room. Classical Unbound Festival

Clarinets Unleashed

August 24 at 7:30 p.m., the new world-class classical music “Classical Unbound Festival” is in the vaulting grandeur of the Osterhout Henry Hall at Fields on West Lake. Silent Movies

Back by popular demand, Baxter Arts Centre, at 3 Stanley Street, Bloomfield, will screen silent movies on alternate Thursdays beginning May 19th throughout the summer. Snuggles is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing knitted or crocheted yarn squares that will be sewn together in South Africa into small blankets for children in the neediest day care centres. Cooking Workshops

Food to Share is a grassroots initiative that addresses food insecurity in the County. The group led by Glen Wallis takes food donated by various farmers and private residents and turns it into healthy, fresh food to be distributed through our local County food banks.
