There were several members of the Waring Creek Improvement Association in

of the Minutes of settlement and that motion carried.
Councillor Bill Roberts presented a resolution to council members last night to amend a
procedural by-law. His resolution would require that all meetings of council be limited to 3 hours, with an option to extend the meeting by 1 hour, based on a majority vote. The resolution was triggered by the Planning and Development meeting of Dec. 11, which ran until 1 a.m. Roberts talked about the mental fatigue and safety of the public, staff, and council. Several councillors agreed with Roberts, but others pointed out that any councillor could ask for a recess or adjournment. The resolution failed with a vote of 9 to 5. However, council did agree to improve their agenda management.
Also last night at council, Linda Downey received a Civic Recognition Certificate for her contribution to the community through the Storehouse foodbank. Linda started the foodbank in Wellington in 2007, and has worked to help those in need with food, clothing, furniture, household items, and support.
