Canadian recording industry legend (and 99.3 County FM board member) Bernie Finkelstein will be the guest speaker at the station’s upcoming Annual General Meeting.
During nearly five decades as a producer, label owner, and artist manager, Bernie broke into the Greenwich Village scene with The Paupers at age 19, discovered Bruce Cockburn, produced the “loudest band in the world,” Kensington Market, managed and produced Murray McLauchlan, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, and Rough Trade, and won 40 Junos along the way.
In addition, in his spare time he managed to write a book about his life in the music business called True North.
If you’re interested in the Canadian music scene, here’s one more reason to come to the AGM at 7 PM on Wednesday, January 22nd at the Old Town Hall above the fire house on the corner of King and Ross in Picton.
