99.3 County FM announced today that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has approved its application to operate a community radio station covering all the wards of Prince Edward County.
“This is the news we’ve all been waiting for” according to Treat Hull, Chair. “Up until now, it’s been all about planning for the station. With our license approved, now it’s time to get down to work.”
“Fund raising is critical, but we have held off raising money until we got the license. Now that we’re approved, we will be kicking off our fundraising in the next weeks with the goal to be in full swing by March. We will also start looking for volunteers right away and anyone who’s interested in getting involved in any way is invited to contact us.”
The station is planning to get on the air during 2014, preferably by September.
The 2014 Annual General Meeting of 99.3 County FM (Prince Edward County Radio Corporation) will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd from 7 to 9 PM at the Picton Town Hall, 2 Ross Street (above the fire hall) in Picton.
