County FM Radio Night held at Picton’s Regent Theater on Wednesday evening, June 25th was a smashing success.
Over 250 enthusiastic supporters were in attendance to hear station General Manager Jim (JJ) Johnston introduce the station’s shows and hosts and to see the British comedy film “Pirate Radio”.
“During the daytime (6AM to 6 PM) the station will have an accessible, adult contemporary sound. Think CBC a few years ago” according Johnston ”with regular hosts playing music interspersed with local news, interesting guests and brief specialty items.”
Evenings will focus on special interest programing with shows which will include metal and hard rock, reggae, jazz, blues, classical, and even Quebec and Acadian music.
“We’ll also have brief segments with local experts discussing issues like health tips, pets, finances and legal matters.”
Emcee Ange Stever officiated over the enthusiastic evening which culminated with the award of a series of door prizes contributed by local business supporters.
In a most unlikely development, the winner of the door prize contributed by Picton Home Hardware was none other than….Adam Busscher, owner of Picton Home Hardware. Adam graciously declined the door prize so it could be awarded to someone else.
